Air Force Veteran Chrissy Houlahan Named to House Armed Services Committee

January 16, 2019 WASHINGTON – Representative Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) announced that she has secured an assignment on the House Armed Services Committee for the 116th Congress.

As an Air Force veteran and the daughter and granddaughter of Naval aviators, I am proud to serve on the Armed Services Committee,” said Houlahan. “Military service runs in my blood and I am very appreciative to all the brave men and women who have served to defend our country and our values. We face complex threats today ranging from traditional threats to cyber threats, biological threats, and effects from climate change. I understand the importance of a strong national defense and look forward to working on the House Armed Services Committee to help address these emerging national security threats.”

Houlahan served three years on active duty in the Air Force, followed by 13 years in the active and inactive reserves, ultimately rising to the rank of Captain. She’s in her first term representing Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District which encompasses Chester County and Southern Berks County.
