We’re urging interested Democrats to please apply for a vacant volunteer position on the Easttown Parks and Recreation Board. Though accounting for only 47% of registered voters in Easttown Township, 79% of the members on current Boards and Commissions are Republican! We need more Democratic voices speaking up at Board and Commission meetings so please make a difference and volunteer.
As an advisory body, the Parks and Recreation Board makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding plans for the acquisition of or construction of, improvement of, maintenance of, equipping of, operation of, financing of and regulation of public parks, parkways, playgrounds, play fields, and other indoor and outdoor recreation places and facilities. The Parks and Recreation Board also plays a pivotal role in the organization and execution of Township events such as the annual egg hunt and Fourth of July parade.
Interested candidates must be residents of the Township and have availability on the evenings of the third Tuesday of each month for regular business meetings. Additional time will be required for special meetings and Township events, as necessary. The term of this vacancy expires December 31, 2020. Regular terms are five years.
Please submit a resume and letter of interest to the Township via email, Easttown@Easttown.Org, by end of business day on Friday, May 31, 2019.
