Annual July 4th Victory Run, Bike Parade & Picnic
July 4, 2022 @ 7:30 am - 2:00 pm

The Easttown Township Parks & Recreation Board and the Berwyn Veterans, with sponsors M&T Bank, WSFS Bank and Zeke Capital Partners, will host its 19th Annual “July 4th Victory Run & Bike Parade & Picnic” with all trimmings, events and fun but more than past years.
Kicking off July 4th will be the 19th Annual Berwyn Victory Run/Walk, starting at Johnson Park and leading right into the Kids Race (everyone medals), and then the Bike Parade and Picnic. Registration for the Run starts at 7:30am, the Run starts at 8:30am, the Kids Races begin about 9:30am, the Bike Parade registration begins at 10:15am, the Parade begins at 11:00am (–don’t be late), followed by the picnic at 11:30am, with Games and Contests at Noon, then the Highlight around 1:00pm with the Berwyn Fire Company providing a Water Cannon Shot over all the Kids and their Family members who want to be kids again…There is nothing like it on the Main Line.
The Berwyn Victory Run is annually sponsored by the Veterans Association of Easttown and Tredyffrin Townships (but missed 2020). The 5k Run/Walk and the Kids Races help to maintain the Veterans Memorials in Berwyn, Chesterbrook and soon in Devon. With little notice, the Vets also assist local veteran’s families who have come upon difficult times. The Veteran Association is made of local Vets and many Non-Vet members. These folks honor the contributions many men and woman, especially, those who have “given their last full measure of devotion” have made to us and our country, so we can celebrate days like the July 4th.
The Easttown Park & Recreaction Board has consolidated all local bike parades into one large Bike Parade in Downtown Berwyn, with a free Picnic afterwards. In past years, over 290 children have ridden in the Parade, with over 450 adults attending. The Berwyn Fire Company and Easttown Police lead the Parade. For 2022, there will be a vintage (Circa 1967) “Good Humor” Truck as part of the Parade with free ice cream for all the children.
The Picnic has “traditional” picnic food and beverage, along with 2 Moon Bounces, Face Painting, Water Balloon Toss, Limbo Contest, Three–Legged Races. Tug-of-War, etc. Added this year is a Patriotic History Quiz, with additional Prizes donated by BPALL. All children participating receive a Patriotic gifts package compliments of WSFS Bank and Zeke Capital Partners. The Berwyn Fire Company water cannon shot will close the day and cool things off. The kids (and adults) love it. AS ALWAYS, PLEASE MAKE DONATIONS TO THE BERWYN FIRE COMPANY.
This year trophies and awards will be given out by the Berwyn Veterans for the children with the Most Patriotic, Most Creative and “Most Funniest” bicycles, along with other Contest winners.
The Parks & Recreation Board, M&T Bank, WSFS Bank, Zeke Capital Partners, Berwyn Fire Company, the Rotary Club and the Berwyn Veterans all assist with the 5K Run/Walk, Kids Races, Parade and Picnic. The Board consists of Tom Toscani, Chairman, Kathy Stead, Ted Babiy, Paul Banks, Margaret DiPiano, Stacey Ballard, Lisa Schwarz and Marc Heppe, with local volunteers Ed & Janet Antoian, Paul Banks, Bill Bellew, Jack Ansley, Brandon Adams, Beau Choate, Pete Toscani, Jim Oram, Nancy Ward and many others. More volunteers can only make this day better. If you have questions or want to volunteer, please call Tom at 610-647-4901 or 215-840-0294 or speak to any Board member. A grand time is guaranteed for all!!!!
NOTE: We expect that candidates for political office will refrain from campaigning at this event. This is for the children and community to celebrate the 4th of July.
