Chester County Wear Orange Gun Safety Rally, Sat, Jun 4

 This event is organized by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, CeasefirePA, GunSenseUs and UUJusticePA. Join them as they gather on the steps of the Historic Chester County Courthouse in West Chester (2 North High Street, West Chester, PA)  to honor the 110 lives cut short and the hundreds more wounded by gun violence every day in America. Hear from survivors and honor their stories. Please wear orange if you can.

As part of a release issued by event organizers: “The Wear Orange Campaign asks everyone in America who wants to save lives from gun violence to do one simple thing on June 3, National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Wear Orange. The broad based Wear Orange coalition was inspired by activists in Chicago and New York City. Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 in 2013. After her death, they asked us to stand up, speak out and to Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence. Since then, orange has been the defining color of the gun violence prevention movement.

“Communities across America will Wear Orange on June 3 and participate in events throughout Wear Orange Weekend on June 4 and 5, with the West Chester rally on June 4. Those who Wear Orange promise to honor the more than 110 lives cut short and the hundreds more wounded by gun violence every day in America.”
