Historic Waynesborough Candlelight Tour

December 8, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Waynesborough, also known as the Gen. Anthony Wayne House, is a historic house museum at 2049 Waynesborough Road, just south of Paoli in Easttown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1724 and repeatedly enlarged, it was for many years the home of American Revolutionary War general Anthony Wayne.

Wander by candlelight through the halls of an 18th century country manor house and learn about the holiday traditions of days gone by on Sunday, Dec. 8, at Historic Wayneborough in Paoli.

This tour will take you through the rooms once inhabited by celebrated Revolutionary War General Anthony Wayne and the seven generations of the Wayne family who occupied Historic Waynesborough for more than 200 years. You’ll learn about the lives and times of the colorful Waynes and about the ways in which Americans in the 18th and 19th centuries observed Christmas.

Tours will be given at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will begin in the carriage house. Refreshments will be served.

Admission is $7, $6 for seniors, $5 for students. For information, call 610-647-1779.
