September 10, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Easttown Democrats are invited to attend Tony Verwey’s first local campaign fundraiser on September 10th! We hope you can attend the event to support Tony’s campaign for Court of Common Pleas. Click here to attend the event!
Tony has been endorsed by retired State Sen. Andy Dinniman, Sens. Kearney and Committa, County Commissioner Josh Maxwell and PSEA PACE (and more to come!).
IMPORTANT TO ELECT DEMOCRATIC JUDGES: We will see many court cases arise over newly proposed voting laws, which underscores the vital importance of the upcoming judicial races. In Chester County and in PA, all of our Democratic judicial candidates bring something NO Republican judicial candidate has: a Democratic lens for interpretation of the law and our shared democratic values. Don’t be fooled! Republican judges and candidates will bring their reprehensible Republican philosophy and values to the bench.
ABOUT THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS: With over 400 judges across the state, the Court of Common Pleas is where most misdemeanor and all felony criminal cases are disposed of, where Orphan’s Court matters are addressed, and where larger civil cases are originated. Family law matters, such as custody, divorce, and support are also addressed at the primary level under the supervision of the Court of Common Pleas for a county. These courts hear criminal and civil cases, including those involving families and children, such as divorce, property division, alimony, child custody and support, paternity and protection orders. They also hear appeals from the lower-level Minor Courts. There are 13 Common Pleas Judges in Chester County. Common Plea judges are paid $186,665 annually as of January 2021.
