We know guns in schools do not make our kids safe. But yesterday, June 28th, both the State House and Senate passed a bill, SB 621, the bill that puts more guns in our schools, and now it’s going to Governor Wolf for his signature. Many people believe this is a backdoor effort to help the gun lobby arm teachers. And the gun lobby agrees — they are praising this bill as a way to get guns in the hands of teachers and school staffers!

Please contact Governor Wolf immediately and tell him this bill is misguided and dangerous. It won’t make our kids safer. Ask him to veto SB 621. Governor Wolf email and phone contact information. Please ask all your Pennsylvania friends, neighbors and relatives to contact the Governor’s office too.

Here is some suggested language to use when emailing the Governor (be sure to include your first and last name as well as your street address and email address):

Dear Governor Wolf,

I live in Easttown Township in Chester County. We know you are opposed to arming teachers, but SB 621 opens the door to doing just that. The gun lobby agrees, and they are gloating about this bill — which was intended to address only security personnel but instead makes our schools less safe. Please veto SB 621.
